About UMB

Davidge Hall

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is a dynamic institution composed of six professional schools — Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Social Work  — and the interdisciplinary School of Graduate Studies, each dedicated to advancing education, research, clinical care, and service. While united as one university, each school manages its own admissions process, preparing future leaders to make a lasting impact on communities locally, nationally, and globally.

Our Mission

To improve the human condition and serve the public good of Maryland and society at-large through education, research, clinical care, and service.

Our Accreditation

Every eight years, UMB undergoes a reaffirmation of its accreditation with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The process is an opportunity to strengthen the University through a comprehensive evaluation.
