Norman Augustine, MSE, former chair and CEO of Lockheed Martin Corp., was introduced as the person most qualified to discuss leadership at the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s (UMB) second installment of its Core Values Speaker Series. He spent the next 80 minutes showing why.

The sky’s been the limit for Norman Augustine, MSE, most of his career. Long before he became chair and CEO of Lockheed Martin — the nation’s largest defense contractor — aviation was in his blood.

Norm Augustine is retired chairman and CEO of the board of the Lockheed Martin Corporation. Before joining Martin Marietta, he served as assistant secretary of the Army (R&D) from 1973 to 1975 and undersecretary from 1975 to 1977. He was a professor at Princeton, his alma mater, from 1997 to 1999.
