You are faced with many challenges as a graduate or professional student at University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). You want to perform well in your classes and have a satisfying personal life. The Student Counseling Center can help you improve your ability to balance the many demands on the road towards earning your degree. Counseling is confidential and free to full- and part-time UMB students. We offer individual counseling, group workshops and provide assistance with outside referrals.
Please call 410-328-8404 or come in during regular business hours and ask to schedule a "phone triage" with an SCC clinician. A counselor will speak with you over the phone or in person for 20 to 30 minutes to collect preliminary information about you and your current concerns. Please review the individual sections below for more information. It is also recommended that you review the Additional Information section should you have any questions about confidentiality or requesting paperwork.
The SCC provides virtual and in-person services Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
