Educational Support and Disability Services

The Office of Educational Support and Disability Services (ESDS) coordinates services to assist students with disabilities in obtaining reasonable accommodations through an interactive process involving the student and the school.

How to Request Reasonable Accommodations:

  1. Complete the reasonable accommodations form on the ESDS Student Accommodations Portal
  2. Submit appropriate documentation confirming your disability.  Learn more about documentation guidelines 
  3. Connect with ESDS staff to schedule an initial appointment.

Police/Emergency Communication For Deaf/Hard of Hearing Students

Police emergency center - TTD/TTY number is 410-706-3416.

Deaf Addiction Services at Maryland Department of Psychiatry, Public Safety offers the deaf community a tool to contact the police using their face-2-face app on their phone (apps such as P3 Mobile, ntouch, Convo) to contact an Interpreter to then contact 410-706-3333 which is UP Public Safety emergency line. 

An email address is police@umaryland.edu to communicate to the police dispatchers.
