Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) training teaches survival techniques for an active shooter scenario, including what to expect when the police arrive. The course is built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed in 2004. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues, and considerations for conducting drills.
The length of CRASE training is variable depending on student participation, questions, and size of the class. Training could last a few hours or less.
Trainings may be offered at the University of Maryland, Baltimore Police Department Training Facility, located at 100 North Greene Street (entrance on West Fayette Street), or we can come to your office, conference room, or other on-campus location! Training locations will need audio/visual capabilities and seats for all participants.
