HyFlex, short for Hybrid-Flexible, is an instructional model that combines face-to-face and online learning, providing students with flexible options for engagement and participation. This approach allows students to choose their preferred mode of learning while maintaining a cohesive and inclusive classroom experience.
A HyFlex course is similar to a hybrid course in that it uses both online and face-to-face instruction. The difference is that both types of instruction are happening at the same time. In HyFlex courses, instructors are usually physically located in the classroom, with some of their students participating online and some of their students present in the classroom with them. Instructors do not necessarily know in advance which students will be participating online and which students will be present in the classroom.
Embrace the flexibility and engagement offered by HyFlex teaching. Explore the subtopics and dive into the wealth of information and resources provided to enhance your teaching practices in hybrid learning environments. Together, let's create inclusive, interactive, and impactful learning experiences that meet the needs of all students and empower them to succeed.
