Request for Funding and Marketing Assistance
The Center for Global Engagement (CGE) is happy to support university-wide student organizations that have a global focus who are holding events with marketing and limited funding. Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Events must be non-political and open to the entire UMB community. Groups receiving funding should credit CGE as an event co-sponsor.
Requests for funding and marketing assistance must be submitted at least one month before the event date.
How Can CGE Help with Your Events?
Planning Your Event
We can help you brainstorm about how to organize your event, find in-person and virtual speakers, find a room on campus, and other logistical details.
Promoting Your Event
We can help you promote your event through university channels.
Event Purchases
You can request up to $250 for small purchases to enhance your event. These must be ordered from Amazon and can include:

Candies or snack food

Water & soda

Posters, maps, pushpins

Pens
-
Tablecloths
-
Plastic utensils, napkins, paper plates

Decorative stickers
-
Photo booth/selfie decoration kit

CGE Cannot Help with Catering
CGE does not provide funds for catering. However, did you know that student groups can also access their funding through UMB Engage? Your group can order catering without spending your personal funds and waiting for reimbursement. Go to your group in UMB Engage and click Money on the left sidebar. From there, you can submit a request for payment in advance. If you have questions about that process, all organization presidents and treasurers were trained on this procedure and you can find more information on the University Student Government Association (USGA) funding page.
