Dow Graduates Association of North America (DOGANA), the University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB), and Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) have come together to create an innovative program of exchange, training, and mutual understanding between two renowned health sciences campuses in Pakistan and the United States called the DOGANA - UMB - DUHS Collaborative Exchange Program (DDUCEP).
The exchange program launched in 2024 with a visiting cohort of four medical students from DUHS participating in a two-month observership at UMB. The observership included rounding with University of Maryland School of Medicine faculty members at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), participation in Grand Round lectures, and participation in lectures and programs at the other six UMB schools.
Selected students were registered and provided with compliance training (e.g. HIPAA, safety and hygiene) by the UMMS Volunteer Office, with a campus welcome and safety training by the Center for Global Engagement.
