Headcount History by School, 2009-2013

Total Fall 2013 headcount enrollment is 6,284, a decrease of 1.3% from Fall 2012. Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medicine have the largest percent of growth in enrollment while Law, Social Work, Dentistry, and the Graduate School have a decline in enrollment.

The decline in enrollment for Fall 2013 is largely attributable to decreases in the Law Day JD (60), Law Evening JD (21), Social Work MSW (20 students), Dental Hygiene BS (20), and Nursing MS (19) , programs.  Enrollment in the Nursing BSN increased by 47 from 2012 to 2013, which helped somewhat to offset decreases in enrollment for other programs.  Also alleviating decreases in enrollment in other programs was the new Research Ethics certificate program, which included 12 students enrolled during the first fall of the program's existence.  The Medicine PhD and Public Health MPH programs each showed an increase in enrollment of 10 students between Fall 2012 and Fall 2013.

Projected vs. Actual Headcount by Degree

Fall 2013 enrollment total is 1.4% greater than projected. While many programs are close to the projections, some have significant deviations. The Nursing MS, Nursing BSN, Nursing Practice DNP, Dental Hygiene BS, and Physical Therapy DPT programs enrolled the most number of students over their projected enrollments. Law Day JD, Social Work MSW, and Pharmacy MS have the largest disparity among the programs that failed to reach their projected enrollment.

Women comprise 71.1% of the total Fall 2013 enrollment, dominating all programs except for Law Evening JD, Pharmacy MS, Dentistry PhD, and the Clinical Research Certificate program where men account for 54.6%, 55.6%, 100%, and 100% of enrollment, respectively. The Dentistry DDS programs is split almost equally.
