Headcount History by School, 2010-2014 Total Fall 2014 headcount enrollment is 6,276, a decrease of 0.1% from Fall 2013. The Graduate School, Pharmacy, and Social Work have the largest percent of growth in enrollment while Law, Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing have a decline in enrollment. Over five years, the School of Law's enrollment has decreased by 26%, while the enrollment in the School of Pharmacy has increased by 16.3%. During that same time span, the overall headcount enrollment at UMB has decreased by 1.1%. |

The Graduate School, Social Work, Nursing, and Pharmacy increased in FTES enrollment from Fall 2013 to Fall 2014, while Law, Medicine, and Dentistry decreased in FTES enrollment. Over a five-year period, the total FTES enrollment at UMB has increased by 2.2%. |

Headcount Change by Degree The decline in enrollment for Fall 2014 is largely attributable to decreases in the Nursing MS (173), Law Day JD (79), Law Evening JD (37), Public Health MPH (18), Medicine MD (16), Medicine PhD (13), and Dental Hygiene BS (9) programs. The Doctor of Nursing Practice program showed the largest gain in enrollment between 2013 and 2014, with an increase of 104 students (117%). Enrollment in the Social Work MS program increased by 62 from 2013 to 2014, and the Nursing BSN program increased enrollment by 60. The new Health Science MS program included 39 students enrolled during the first fall of the program's existence. Another new program, the Regulatory Science MS, helped the aggregate Pharmacy MS program enrollment increase by 63, helping to further offset the losses in enrollment by other programs. |
Projected vs. Actual Headcount by Degree Fall 2014 enrollment total is 1.5% greater than projected. While many programs are close to the projections, some have significant deviations. The Nursing Practice DNP, Nursing BSN, Pharmacy MS, and Social Work MSW programs enrolled the most number of students over their projected enrollments. Nursing MS, Public Health MPH, Medicine PhD, Law Day JD, and Law Evening JD have the largest disparity among the programs that failed to reach their projected enrollment. |

Headcount by Gender Women comprise 71.2% of the total Fall 2014 enrollment, dominating all programs except for Law Evening JD, Law LLM, Dentistry PhD, Dentistry Post Graduate Certificate program, and the Clinical Research Certificate program where men account for 54.6%, 55.6%, 100%, and 100% of enrollment, respectively. The Dentistry DDS, Dentistry PhD, and Pharmacy PhD programs are split equally or almost equally. |

Headcount by Attendance Status Full-time students account for 79% of headcount enrollment for Fall 2014. Programs that have more than 50 percent part-time students include the Dentistry MS, Health Science MS, Pharmacy MS, Public Health MPH, Clinical Research Certificate, Research Ethics Certificate, and Nursing MS, PhD, DNP and Certificate programs. |

Headcount by Residency Maryland residents account for 77% of the total enrollment for Fall 2014. The undergraduate programs have the highest percent with 95.1% in-state residents. The Research & Scholarship Doctorate programs have the lowest at 33%. |
