Non-Instructional Productivity Survey

The University System of Maryland (USM), in conjunction with budget analysts from the Governor's Office and the Maryland General Assembly, developed the Non-Instructional Faculty Productivity Report to measure faculty activities outside of the classroom. All full-time faculty members at every USM institution must complete the survey each year.

The survey system accessed through this page is utilized by faculty in the schools of dentistry, law, medicine, social work, and the graduate school and is supported by the School of Medicine Department of Information Services. Data collection for faculty in the schools of nursing and pharmacy is coordinated within each of those schools directly.

Login Procedure

The login for the Survey of Faculty Non-Instructional Productivity has been integrated into the UMB Portal (Single Sign On).  Separate login IDs and passwords are not needed.

Survey questions can be reviewed and answers prepared in advance of accessing the survey form by using the resources links to the right.

Plan to complete and submit the survey form within 2 hours before the system times out and the data will need to be re-entered.

Resubmitting a Rejected Survey

Log in through THIS LINK. Your survey form will reappear with any comments provided by your department chair (dentistry and medicine) or dean (graduate school, law, social work) and original entries in cells that can be edited. Select "Submit" at the bottom of the form when you are done. Your department chair or dean will be notified that your survey is available for review and approval.
