Purpose
The Foundations of Interprofessional Education and Practice Course is offered annually during the Fall and Spring semesters to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, master’s entry-to-practice Clinical Nurse Leader, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Dental Surgery, Dental Hygiene, Medical Doctor, and Doctor of Physical Therapy programs. Faculty from the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy work with interprofessional student groups who complete introductory interprofessional education content through four modules (face to face and online, delivered via Blackboard).
Criteria for Applying
Full-time UMB faculty or staff member with interest in facilitating interprofessional education.
Required Effort
Faculty and Staff will need to be able to commit to 15-20 hours across Fall and Spring or during Winter Session.
Each school will decide whether the faculty selected for this course will receive $5,000 as a salary stipend or for professional development. Each school reserves the right to use the funding to benefit the school if this teaching assignment is within the faculty member’s workload.
Staff are only able to receive $5,000 as professional development.
