Emergency Information
Reporting a Work-Related Injury or Illness:
Report work-related injuries and illnesses, regardless of whether medical treatment is required, to the Risk Management Division within three (3) days of the incident. Prompt reporting ensures that the injured person receives the medical treatment and benefits entitled to them.
To report an injury or illness:
- Notify your supervisor of the injury or exposure
- Complete the appropriate first report of injury form:

* If seeking medical treatment, print a copy of the injury report and take it with you to the University of Maryland Campus Health center.
Animal
If an animal is in need of immediate medical attention, the contact Veterinary Resources.

For Regular Hours: Monday-Friday (8:30am- 5:00pm), Weekends and Holidays (8:00am- 2:00pm)
Call 443-602-0690 to contact the veterinary technician on-call to report the animal health problem.
* If there is no answer, leave a voicemail and/or send a text message, if possible.
Please be sure to place a red "request for vet staff evaluation" card on the cage and fill out the white Animal Evaluation Request form PDF Card should be easily attainable from the card holder either in the room or in the hallway. Extra forms are on a clipboard outside the animal housing room. If you do not see any forms, contact the husbandry supervisor for your building. Contact information is posted within the facility -
For After Hour Emergencies:
Call 443-400-7882 to leave a message for the on-call veterinarian
* The veterinarian will return your call as soon as possible.
