Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students may temporarily qualify for in-state tuition if they submit the approval notification of their Deferred Action status (Form I-797, Notice of Action from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) with their Application for In-State Classification to Office of the Registrar prior to the first day of enrollment for the term in which they are seeking admission. Additionally, students with valid DACA status must satisfy the requirements specified in the USM Residency Policy VIII*2.70.2024. Please note that DACA status must also be held for 12 consecutive months prior to the first day of enrollment for the term in which the student is seeking admission.
Inquiries regarding how DACA affects residency classification should be directed to the Office of the Registrar by calling 410-706-7480 or sending an email to residency@umaryland.edu.
