NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. According to the NAMI at UMB:  the National Alliance on Mental Illness at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, henceforth NAMI@UMB is a student organization at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. This organization’s purpose shall be to raise awareness of the experience of persons affected by mental illness among the students of the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) and to improve the wellness and quality of life of all persons affected by mental illness.
